Israel Parks and Nature Authority confiscate cows owned by ‘Ein al-Hilweh residents
10 November 2020
On Tuesday, 10 November 2020, inspectors from the Israel Parks and Nature Authority confiscated four cows owned by two brothers, residents of ‘Ein al-Hilweh, that were out grazing alone. Residents who were in the area alerted the owners, but no one informed them where the cows had been taken. After four days of inquiries with the Israeli DCO, it transpired that they had been taken to a military camp south of al-Jiftlik. When the owners got there, they were ordered to pay a fine of 5,920 shekels (~1,760 USD) and only then given the cows back.
