Qaryut, Nablus District: Dozens of settlers come to spring and break lock; soldiers escorting them fire tear gas at residents trying to approach

On Friday, 18 February 2022, at around midday, about 50 settlers came to the Qaryut spring again, this time escorted by Border Police officers. The settlers broke the lock on the cover of the spring and threw stones into it. The forces escorting them prevented the residents from reaching the area and in the ensuing clashes, which lasted for hours, hurled tear gas canisters at the residents. Dozens of residents suffered from inhaling the tear gas and were treated at the scene. On 4 February 2022, settlers came to the spring escorted by soldiers, who drove the farmers out of their fields.
