Jalud, Nablus District: Israeli settlers throw stones at home and burn down five cars

On 28 March 2022, shortly after midnight, settlers entered the eastern neighborhood of the village, threw stones at one of the homes and set fire to five cars.

In a testimony he gave B’Tselem researcher Salma a-Deb’i on 28 March 2020, Muhammad 'Abbad (39), a father of six, recounted:

While watching TV, I heard noises outside the house and something hitting the window. I immediately went up to the roof to see what was going on and saw my car and my cousins' cars, which were parked in front of our house, on fire and settlers running towards the Esh Kodesh settlement. I immediately called my cousins, and together we tried to put out the fire for more than an hour but couldn't. The cars were burned down completely, and we stayed in the street until morning because we were afraid that the settlers would come back to the neighborhood. At around 3:00 A.M., representatives of the DCO and soldiers arrived, photographed the cars, collected statements and left.

We couldn't sleep, of course. We don't feel safe. The settlers can come to our homes at any moment and attack us. This isn't the first time this has happened. On top of that, there's the financial loss. I work in construction and had a lot of tools in the car, including an air hammer that cost me NIS 2,500 (~780 USD) and a circular saw that cost NIS 500 (~156 USD).
