Route 60, Hebron: Settlers throw stones at Palestinian passengers, breaking car’s back window

On 18 April 2022, Ramzi Marqut (38) drove a resident of al-Bweirah and his three children, between the ages of six and ten, for a fee. At around 2:00 P.M., as the car drove by the entrance to the neighborhood of Giv’at Haharsinah in the settlement of Kiryat Arba, they were attacked with stones by a group of settlers.

In a testimony he gave B’Tselem field researcher Manal al-Ja’bari that day, Marqut said:

The stones that were thrown at us caught us by surprise. Some of them were big, and they smashed the back window of my car and hit the body. Luckily, none of the passengers were hurt, and I managed to get them home safely. On the way back, a few young guys rode with me. They started yelling at the settlers, who took off, so I was able to go on driving. Repairing the damage to my car cost me about 4,000 ILS.
