On Wednesday, 11 May 2022, at around 1:00 P.M., a settler arrived the Abu ‘Eishah family’s metal factory in the neighborhood of Tel Rumeidah. The factory was shut down by the military about 20 years ago, and the settlement of Ramat Yishai was established near the site. The settler dismantled the barbed wire fence around the factory. Three members of the family arrived and put up the fence again.
The following day, at around 1:00 P.M., settlers again arrived and vandalized the barbed wire fence and metal gate. This time, too, three family members arrived. They protested what was happening to soldiers who came to the scene. The soldiers detained one of them, Jawwad Abu ‘Eishah (48), tied his hands with plastic zip ties and led him to the entrance to the settlement of Ramat Yishai. Police officers who arrived there took his statement and released him about an hour later. The family rebuilt the fence and gate.
