Huwarah, Nablus District: Settlers block road and assault Palestinians in front of soldiers, who throw stun grenade at the Palestinians

On Monday, 19 September 2022, at around 9:00 A.M., dozens of settlers, escorted by soldiers, staged a protest at the ‘Einbus-Huwarah traffic circle (Route 5076). The settlers marched towards the Huwarah road, where they blocked Palestinian cars and threw stones at Palestinian businesses. Mutual shoving developed between the settlers and Palestinians, and the settlers pepper sprayed one Palestinian in the face with pepper spray. At that point, the soldiers, who had until then done nothing, threw a stun grenade at the Palestinians to drive them away. The settlers and the soldiers left the area after about two hours.

That evening, at around 8:30 P.M., a car pulled over next to the offices of a taxi company on the Huwarah road, and a settler in the passenger seat sprayed tear gas in the face of Maher Miladi  (56). The car then fled, and Miladi was taken to a clinic in town for treatment.
