On Friday, 9 September 2022, at around 3:30 P.M., a settler pulled over by the side of Route 60, near the intersection by the village of Beita. He got out of his car and started throwing stones at passing Palestinian cars in the presence of four soldiers. One of the soldiers tried to stop the attack but did not detain the settler, while the other three soldiers stood by. Muhammad Fares, a journalist who was driving by, pulled over and filmed part of the attack. The settler threw a stone at Fares’ car, hitting one of the left doors, and then left. Fares went over to the soldiers and complained they had not prevented the assault on him. The soldiers said it was not their responsibility and that everything was recorded on security cameras.
