On 20 October 2022, at around 12:30 P.M., a group of teenage settlers arrived at the eastern entrance to the village of al-Mughayir. They torched tires on a dirt road leading to village farmland and blocked it. Soldiers who arrived fired tear gas canisters at several youths who had come from the village, and clashes broke out between them. Roughly 30 minutes later, at around 1:00 P.M., about 15 settlers arrived in cars. They got out and started chasing the youths on foot into the village. During the chase, the settlers passed through lands belonging to three siblings from the al-Haj Muhammad family. They broke 18 olive trees, uprooted and cut down about 70 almond and grapevine saplings, and stole some of the fruit. They also set fire to a Palestinian car parked nearby. The soldiers also chased the Palestinian youths into the village, firing tear gas canisters at them as well as live shots in the air. No one was hurt.
