A-Tuwani, Masafer Yatta: Israeli soldiers fire tear gas at Palestinian farmers and at volunteers, preventing olive harvest

On 22 October 2022, dozens of Palestinian residents, accompanied by dozens of Israeli and international volunteers, went to harvest olives on village land. The military blocked some of the roads leading to the groves in advance, preventing the harvesters from accessing their land by car and forcing them to go there on foot. After the harvesters and the activists escorting them spread out in the a-Tuwani valley and started picking olives, soldiers who were standing on the eastern side of the valley fired tear gas at them. The incident lasted an hour or two, and many of the harvesters fled. Some returned to finish picking the olives after a while.
