Sabastiya, Nablus District: Israeli settlers pick olives in Palestinian grove surrounded by settlement fence

On 18 October 2022, around 2:00 P.M., Majd Shihadah (72) from Sabastiya was picking olives on his land in the southwestern section of the village when he noticed several settlers picking olives in another part of his grove, which lies on the other side of the Shavei Shomron settlement fence. The Israeli military allows Shihadah to access that part of his land with prior approval only. Shihadah notified the village council, which notified the Palestinian DCO, which notified the Israeli DCO, but no official representative arrived.

Shihadah received military permission to access the part of his land that lies beyond the settlement fence on 25 October 2022. When he went there, he discovered the settlers had already harvested 45 trees there and stolen the olives. He then went to another plot he owns that lies beyond the settlement fence, about 400 meters away, and discovered settlers had harvested about 160 olive trees there and stolen the olives.
