‘Urif, Nablus District: Israeli settlers cut down and uproot olive trees belonging to Palestinians in front of soldiers, who fire live rounds in the air and tear gas canisters at residents defending their property

On Wednesday, 14 December 2022, at around 2:30 P.M., about 20 settlers escorted by three soldiers arrived at farmland in the eastern neighborhood of the village of ‘Urif. The settlers damaged a fence and cut down 12 olive trees in a plot belonging to Raed Sabah (54) and uprooted 20 olive saplings planted a year ago in a plot belonging to Najah Shihadah (63). The settlers then left.

In the meantime, neighborhood residents went out to defend their property, and the soldiers fired tear gas canisters at them and at their homes, as well as live rounds in the air. The soldiers remained in the neighborhood until the evening.
