On Monday, 19 December 2022, at around 3:30 P.M., the Hawamdeh and ‘Amer families went to harvest olives in their lands located north of the town of ‘Azmut. The military denies the families access to these lands through most of the year, and this was the second of three harvest days it had approved for them. While the families were working in the groves, about seven settlers came and attacked them with stones. The family members fled.
Roughly half an hour later, Samar Hawamdeh (50) returned to her land and discovered the settlers had stolen 30 kg of olives her family had managed to harvest, a ladder and a kettle. Fearing settler attacks, the families gave up the third harvest day.
