On Friday, 6 January 2023, at around 2:00 P.M., Muhammad Abu 'Alia (48) went to his plot of land east of the village and discovered settlers had poisoned 150 olive trees using pesticides. The settlers had also vandalized 35 meters of the plot's barbed-wire fence and stolen 50 barrels used to protect the seedlings.
About 30 minutes later, soldiers arrived at the plot. They took pictures of the damage and suggested Abu ‘Alia file a complaint at the Binyamin police station, which he did on Sunday, 8 January 2023.
Since 2020, B'Tselem has documented five incidents in which settlers caused damage on farmland owned by the Abu ‘Alia family: On 26 December 2020, on 18 October 2021, on 17 April 2022, on 7 November 2022 and on 29 November 2022.
