Turmusaya, Ramallah District: Israeli settlers shatter glass in Palestinian home and torch car, causing a house fire in another

On Saturday, 28 January 2023, around midnight, about 13 settlers came to the southeastern neighborhood of the village of Turmusaya and attacked the Hamzah family home with stones. The settlers smashed a glass courtyard door, two windows and a glass balcony railing. They then went over to the nearby home of the Jbarah family and torched a car parked next to it. The car caught fire, which spread to the home’s wooden overhang and damaged its outer walls. Fortunately, no one was home at the time, no one was hurt, and neighbors managed to put out the fire even before a Palestinian fire truck arrived. At around 3:00 P.M., Israel Police officers came to the area with a military escort and Israeli DCO personnel. The officers demanded the Hamzah family’s DVR, which had footage of the attack, but the family refused to hand it over.
