On Thursday, 26 January 2023, at around 4:00 P.M., about 30 settlers went to the village of Madama, with a military escort and threw stones at the residents’ houses. When local residents went out to defend their property, the soldiers fired tear gas canisters at them. One resident was injured in the leg by a stone, and the windows in 40-year-old Hatem Qat’s home were smashed. The settlers also damaged two cars belonging to the Qat family and then left the area, breaking eight olive trees on their way out.
