Jordan Valley: Israeli settlers invade three Palestinian communities, vandalize property and attack a local resident

On Monday, 27 February 2023, the day after the settler pogrom in the town of Huwarah and other Palestinian communities in Nablus District, at around 1:00 P.M., four settlers entered the community of Khirbet al-Malih and smashed two solar panels placed near one of the homes, using stones. The settlers also emptied a water tanker and punctured its four tires, as well as one tire in 45-year-old Fayad Dabak’s car. The settlers left about half an hour later.

That same day, at around 2:30 P.M., dozens of settlers, some armed with clubs and some riding an ATV, arrived at the community of Khirbet Wadi al-Faw and smashed the windows of two cars and a solar panel. The settlers also vandalized a tent, trashing it inside, and punctured a tire of a water tanker. When local residents came out to defend their property, an altercation erupted, including mutual stone-throwing. The settlers then attacked Muhammad ‘Awad, a local man, with clubs, causing contusions in his head, back and shoulders. When more residents arrived, the settlers left. ‘Awad was taken in a Red Crescent ambulance to a hospital in Tubas, where he was checked, treated and then discharged.

Meanwhile, dozens of settlers came in cars and on horseback to Kh. Yarza, some armed with clubs. They smashed car windows with stones, punctured a water tanker’s tire and damaged another water tanker. Some of the settlers invaded a home, as well, trashing it. The settlers then left.

About an hour later, Israel Police officers and soldiers came to the three communities without being called by local residents. They looked at the damage, took statements and left.
