Deir Sharaf, Nablus District: Israeli settlers enter Palestinian restaurant, threaten to shoot the owner and employees and pepper-spray one of them in the face. When the employees attempted to defend themselves, soldiers nearby fired in the air.

On Saturday, 25 March 2023, at around 9:30 P.M., four settlers drove up to a restaurant, the al-‘Ajuz wal-Bahar (the Old Man and the Sea), near Deir Sharaf Square. They went inside and threatened to shoot the owner, Ayman Ahmad (53), and his employees. The settlers pepper-sprayed Ahmad’s son, Thaer (30) in the face. Soldiers who were about 50 meters away from the restaurant fired live rounds in the air and held up Ayman and Thaer inside the restaurant for about an hour, without giving Thaer treatment. He was taken to Rafidya Hospital in Nablus for treatment only after the soldiers left.
