On Saturday afternoon, 13 May 2023, Samhan Shreiteh (69) saw about 20 settlers who had entered his farm, located south of the village of al-Mazra'ah al-Qibliyah, and destroyed part of a barbed wire fence surrounding an irrigation reservoir. Shreiteh informed the DCO but no one came. The settlers left the plot after about an hour.
B'Tselem documented four previous incidents in which settlers entered Shreiteh’s land and damaged property. In one of these incidents, the settlers also attacked Shreiteh and his daughters, and in another, they attacked workers on the farm. On 7 April 2023, settlers cut the barbed wire fence around the reservoir, threw stones at Shreiteh and his daughters and pepper-sprayed them. A week later, the settlers returned and cut the fence that had been repaired in the meantime. On 2 September 2022, the settlers vandalized the barbed wire fence around the plot. On 29 September 2022, they tried breaking through the farm’s gate, threw stones at workers, cut the reservoir fence and stole equipment.
