On Sunday evening, 2 July 2023, Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian cars driving through the Za’tara Junction on Route 5051, near the Israeli settlement of Kfar Tapuah. The settlers smashed the windshield and side window of a minibus carrying 19 passengers, injuring a 17-year-old girl in the shoulder. The settlers also smashed the windshield of the car belonging to the Hajir family, from the village of Marda south of Nablus, which was carrying five members of the family. One stone entered the car through an open window and hit Nasafat Hajir (5), who was taken to the governmental hospital in Salfit for treatment. He was treated there for injuries to the head, neck and shoulders. The next day, his father, Amir Hajir (35), filed a complaint about the attack with the Ariel police.
