al-Jawaya, South Hebron Hills: Soldiers known as settlers steal a sheep

On Sunday, 14 April 2024, while Hamzah Shawahin (27) was grazing his sheep on his family’s land, three soldiers known to local residents as settlers arrived. Shawahin fled, and the soldiers caught one of his sheep and took it towards the Ma'on settlement. Hamzah called the police and presented the officers who arrived at the scene with footage filmed by activists showing the soldiers with the sheep. The officer went to the settlement and returned with another soldier, who led the sheep and it was returned to its owner. No action was taken against the soldiers who stole the sheep.
