Khirbet al-Mufaqarah, Masafer Yatta, South Hebron Hills: Israeli settler flies drone over flock of sheep and soldiers drive Palestinian shepherd and Israeli activists out

On Friday, 23 Feb. 2024, a settler flew a drone over a flock of sheep that Fadel Hamamdah (49) was grazing on pastureland near Khirbet al-Mufaqarah in Masafer Yatta. After about half an hour, four soldiers that Hamamdah recognizes as area settlers arrived and forced him to leave, along with Israeli activists who were present. A police officer who arrived afterwards showed Hamamdah and the activists a map on his phone, claiming with no legal basis that the area was a security zone of the Avigayil settlement outpost they were prohibited to enter even if it was privately owned by Palestinians.
