On Tuesday, 23 April 2024, at noon, two soldiers known to residents as settlers arrived at pasturelands south of the town of a-Samu’, while two local residents were grazing their flocks there. The soldiers vandalized a tent that the shepherds had set up for the flock, took the shepherds’ phones and looked through them, handcuffed and blindfolded them, and led them on foot to a nearby military base, where they had them sit in a room and told them they were not allowed to graze their animals in that area. The two were held at the base until the evening, and then the soldiers led them to the western entrance to Sa’ir and let them go with no further action.
