Sabastiya, Nablus District: Settlers pepper-sprayed a farmer and stole sacks of olives

On Sunday, 27 October 2024, Ahmad (72) and Amani (72) Ghazal were harvesting olives on and their two sons on their plot, which spans about 4 dunams (0.4 hectares) and has some 90 olive trees, west of the village of Sabastiya. The settlement of Shavei Shomron is located about 500 meters away. Around 9:30 A.M., about 10 settlers arrived along with a settlement guard. The settlers sprayed pepper-spray in Ahmad Ghazal’s eyes and stole three bags of olives and a ladder. Ghazal’s sons immediately took him to their car and drove him to a clinic in the village, where he was treated and released.

Over the years, the members of the family have managed to harvest olives on their land despite its proximity to the settlement.
