Kh. Um Nir, South Hebron Hills: Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian farmers with clubs and one of them fired into the air

On Sunday, 9 June 2024, at around 8:00 A.M., while al-Karmel Municipality employees and three farmers from the Um Nir community in the South Hebron Hills were surveying agricultural land, five settlers armed with clubs appeared and began shoving the farmers and kicking them off the land. The municipality workers ran away. Meanwhile, another settler known to the residents arrived on horseback, galloped towards one of the farmers and knocked him to the ground. The farmer was injured in the arm. Three more club-wielding settlers arrived, assaulted the other two farmers, causing injuries in various parts of their bodies. At that point, another settler standing on a hill about 200 meters away from the farmers fired several shots into the air, and then the farmers called the police. Police officers who arrived at the scene allowed the settlers to leave and suggested the farmers file a complaint at the police station.
