On Friday, 13 December 2024, around 8:00 A.M., residents of Silwad noticed settlers were setting up a new shepherding outpost on their lands in the al-Burj area, located about 1.5 kilometers west of the town.
After Friday prayers, around 50 town residents, including the owners of the lands on which the outpost was built, went to their lands. When they were about 20 meters from the new outpost, five young settlers approached them and demanded they leave. One of the settlers called the military, and soldiers arrived along with Civil Administration personnel.
At this point, the settlers returned to their tents. A soldier informed the landowner on whose property the outpost was set up that he could file a complaint at the Civil Administration office in Beit El. The other farmers were told that if they wanted access to their lands, they should return on Sunday with documents proving ownership. When the farmers returned on Sunday, 15 December 2024, settlers drove them out of the area and fired in the air. Soldiers then detained one of the farmers and confiscated his tractor.
