On Saturday, 14 December 2024, at around 11:30 A.M., about ten masked settlers armed with sticks showed up in the village of Burin. Three village residents were doing construction work near the ‘Eid family home at the time, one driving a digger. The settlers attacked the residents with stones and swore at them. The digger driver fled, and the others hid and called the Palestinian DCO, which reported the attack to the Israeli DCO. After about 15 minutes, two military jeeps arrived, and the settlers then backed away. The soldiers asked the residents what happened and backed away as well. They stood with the settlers for about 30 minutes, and then everyone left.
That same day, at around 3:00 P.M., six masked settlers showed up at the ‘Eid family’s house again and attacked it with stones. Two of the settlers threw two Molotov cocktails each at the house but they did not hit the wall and no damage was done.
The next day, around 8:30 A.M., a police car and four military jeeps arrived at the house. The soldiers raided it, carried out a search, rummaged through closets, and left a mess behind without explaining the reason for their actions. The soldiers questioned three family members about the previous day’s events, then took the family members outside and looked at the security camera footage of the settlers’ attack. After about 30 minutes, they asked the family members if they wanted to file a complaint, and when they answered no, they left.
