On 24 August 2024, a local Palestinian shepherd saw Israeli settlers stealing four of six donkeys Hafez Harini (54) from the village of a-Tuwani raises on his land. The settlers led the donkeys toward the outpost of Havat Ma’on. Harini filed a complaint about the theft on the Israel Police website the same day. Two days later, two of the donkeys returned on their own.
On 30 August 2024, settlers again came to Harini’s land and stole the two donkeys. The animals once again returned on their own four days later.
On 5 September 2024, around 1:00 P.M., Harini’s neighbor called and told him three settlers were stealing the donkeys. Harini went there immediately and saw the settlers leading the donkeys towards Havat Ma’on. He followed them along with other residents, but soldiers who were there pushed him and the other residents and prevented them from continuing on their way. Harini called the police, and officers who arrived went into Havat Ma’on but did not retrieve the donkeys.
Harini filed a complaint again at the police station.
