On Sunday, 19 January 2025, at around 7:00 P.M., after the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which saw the release of three Israeli hostages and 90 Palestinian detainees and prisoners, went into effect, dozens of settlers gathered on Route 60, between the towns of Sinjil and Turmusaya.
At around 8:00 P.M., they began attacking homes in the two towns. Groups of settlers threw stones at houses, shattering windows of both homes and cars, burned down four vehicles, and set fire to a metal workshop and two homes in Sinjil with Molotov cocktails.
At around 10:30 P.M., a group of settlers broke into an agricultural structure in Turmusaya, stole some of the farming equipment stored inside, and set the structure and its remaining contents on fire. The settlers sprayed graffiti such as “Revenge 7.10” and Stars of David on the walls.
Nael ‘Abdallah, 73, the owner of the agricultural structure, watched it burn on his security cameras. When he went there the next day, he discovered everything inside had been burnt.
