Wadi a-Sha’ir, Nablus District: Another Palestinian community forcibly displaced through state-backed settler violence

The shepherding community of Wadi a-Sha’ir, located in the Sabastiya plain area, was home to nine families with a total number of 54 members, including 38 minors. The community had lived there for decades, making their living from raising and herding sheep. In 2024, settlers established the outpost Havat al-Hai about one kilometer northwest of the community and began grazing their flocks in the pastureland it had used, preventing residents from accessing it and harassing them.

At the end of July 2024, settlers attacked members of the community, injuring two of them. Following this incident, community members decided to leave and moved to live on lands belonging to the nearby village of Deir Sharaf.
