On Wednesday, 13 August 2025, at around 4:30 A.M., eight to ten settlers, some of them masked, broke into Sham’ah Daraghmeh’s residential compound in the community of Ihmeir, al-Farisiyah, in the northern Jordan Valley. The settlers came from the hills west of the community, wandered around the tents, and attacked Sham’ah son, Mustafa, 22, who was sleeping on a bed outside the tent due to the intense heat, using sticks and a sharp object. The family members woke up, started shouting and honking the car horn, and called for solidarity activists who were not far away. The settlers left.
Mustafa was taken in a car to the clinic in the town of ‘Ein al-Beida, and from there by ambulance to the hospital in Tubas, where he was diagnosed with bruises and a deep cut to his left leg that required stitches.
This attack was the latest in a string of attacks and harassments against the family by settlers from the settlements surrounding the al-Farisiyah communities. The settlers had repeatedly driven the family out of their grazing areas and vandalized water sources used for watering their flock.
As a result, the family, numbering a total of six people, including three minors, decided to leave the community. On Sunday morning, 24 August 2025, they began packing their belongings and dismantling their residential structures. The next day, 25 August 2025, they loaded their flock onto a truck and left the site that had been their home for many years.
