IDF Must Pull Out of Rafah

The IDF must completely halt all military operations in the Rafah area, in the wake of its shelling of demonstrators. This operation which was conceived in sin has now turned into a war crime.

B'Tselem calls on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz to end the operation of destruction in Rafah and immediately order IDF forces to leave the area.

The Attorney General, Menachem Mazuz, has been asked to approve the IDF's proposal to widen the Philadelphi route, and is convening a meeting tomorrow to consult with senior officials from the IDF and the State Prosecutor's office on this topic. B'Tselem calls on Mazuz to reject the IDF's proposal, which will entail mass house demolitions.
