On Friday, 5 December 2025, at around 5:00 P.M., as Ishaq Jabarin was plowing farm fields northwest of his family’s home in the village of She‘b al-Batem, a settler arrived and forced him to stop. Shortly afterward, three more settlers arrived on an ATV. Jabarin then left the land and returned home.
Later, the settlers drove at high speed along a dirt road near a family home in the village. The ATV driver repeatedly and deliberately drove up to family members who were near the house, including a woman and her children. He circled them threateningly several times, as the other settlers pointed their guns at them. The woman filmed the incident.
At that point, her spouse, Khalil, arrived at the house, and the family called the police. The settlers remained at the scene for about 15 minutes and ordered the family members to stay inside. When the settlers noticed police forces approaching, two of them left the scene, and two others remained.
Shortly afterward, a settlement guard arrived, stopped next to the settlers and spoke with them. He also spoke with the family members and a police officer who arrived at the scene. The family members described what had happened, and he suggested that they file a complaint with the police the following day.
During the conversation, soldiers arrived at the scene, and the police officer told the woman: “We’re done with you. I don’t know what the army wants.” Immediately afterward, the soldiers detained Khalil and his brother-in-law Isma‘il, the woman’s brother, and took them to the military base in the settlement of Susiya.
The two were held at the base for about five hours without being questioned. They were eventually released and told they had to report to the police station the following day.
