B'Tselem Calls on the IDF to Immediately Permit its Fieldworker to Enter Ramallah
1 نيسان/أبريل 2002
This morning, B'Tselem issued an urgent letter to the IDF spokesperson calling on the IDF to allow its fieldworker to enter Ramallah in order to carry out his work.
The letter states that "the rumor mill that is accompanying the IDF actions in Palestinian cities results in widespread unsubstantiated reports, either as a result of intentional disinformation or as a result of the lack of objective sources of information."
In this situation, the letter said, the presence of human rights workers in the field gathering information is of particular importance.
B'Tselem, which has earned international recognition for providing accurate and reliable information, requests that its fieldworker be allowed to enter Ramallah, and an additional fieldworker be allowed to travel from Hebron to Jenin. B'Tselem has additional fieldworkers spread out across other cities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
