May Day Against Violence

In light of the increasing number of beatings and humiliation of Palestinian workers, B'Tselem and HaMoked - Center for the Defence of the Individual will initiate distribution of flyers at security forces' checkpoints. The campaign will start tomorrow, 1 May, from 7:00 to 9:00 A.M., near the Bethlehem checkpoint (Checkpoint 300).

The following is a translation of the flyer:

"Were you beaten or humiliated by security forces? Don't suffer in silence. Police and soldiers are not allowed to mistreat individuals, even persons who committed a criminal offense. Immediately contact HaMoked, and we shall help you to file a complaint: 02-6264438,
02-6283555.

"In order to facilitate identification of the police officer/soldier: Note the license number of the security forces' vehicle; Try to catch the names of the perpetrators and pay attention to special characteristics: color of the beret or other headgear, physical description of the individual, and the like; If you were injured or are in pain, be examined by a physician and obtain a medical report.

"Keep this flyer for the future"
